Was a very long time for me without a proper game that fits oldschool-sense with somewhat new flavor! ) The madness of quake's awsome rocket-rains/air-fights, rail and shaft-partys is still omnipresent but if you want to rock in duels, you have to use your brain, alot and fast along with proper aim and creativity! Iam very eager to see the progress as the game grows. Some might not like the tactical part, BUT, after playing alot of rounds and all the champions for some while i came to the conclusion, that the balance is pretty good. The items on the field play a very big role aswel as teamplay and positioning/movement. We have different Champions/Characters now, each of them has a unique skill, different movement-styles and different stats which makes the game, especially duels and 2v2's alot more considerable and tactical. Yes, Quake became alot more tactical then it was back then. From my point of view (Oldschool Quake gamer from day one and Q-1), Quake Champions is a worthy and very potential successor to Quake Live.
